Because why not?

That’s a really nice sounding instrument. Almost sounds like an acoustic with a built-in reverb pedal.

That sounds fantastic! I might actually listen to that to fall asleep tonight, thanks!

Better than this version. Especially the solo.

I did not particularly care for that version.
This is how you get a bunch of popular artists to perform together.

Don’t forget the first ever benefit concert, The Concert for Bangladesh. One of the many reasons George is my favorite Beatle. “Mr. Harrison, with all of the enormous problems in the world, how did you happen to choose this one?” “Because I was asked by a friend if I’d help, you know, that’s all.”
The Concert for George is also a great example of big names on one stage sounding great. As is the Dylan 30th anniversary concert:

Now you went and reminded me of this. Blew my mind when I watched it on TV.

Yes! I knew right away what it was before I even clicked on it. Prince fucking owned it. And I never knew he was such a good guitarist. I’m normally not one for covers of Beatles songs, but considering the original was Clapton, I can make an exception for a non-Beatle covering the solo.
